Radio Réveil Suisse held the second of a series of training events in the Togolese capital. Lomé in November. This event, under the theme of Inventing Integral Radio, brought together more than 250 participants representing Christian radio stations from French-speaking Africa, including journalists, radio presenters and technicians.
During five days of work, the participants reflected on the role that radio is called upon to play in terms of holistic development. Trainers invited radio players to be creative by making radio not only a means of communication but also a tool for development.
For them, radio must leave this stage of traditional communication role to become an integral development tool. Several workshops were created during this seminar for further study in the areas of Web Radio, studio operations, journalism, project development and fundraising.
This seminar called Lomé 2 followed on from Lomé 1 and will lead into further gatherings in Lomé. The next event will provide a framework for reflection around the funding of Christian media and training for television players, publishers of newspapers, blogs, websites and social media.
